Taxpayers, Take Notice! April 15, 2026: Final Deadline to File Individual Returns, Single-Member LLCs, and C Corporations

Taxpayers, Take Notice! April 15, 2026: Final Deadline to File Individual Retu
s, Single-Member LLCs, and C Corporations

April 15, 2026, is the official IRS deadline to file 2025 tax retu
s. This deadline applies to:

Individuals filing Form 1040

Single-member Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) are reported as sole proprietorships on Schedule C of Form 1040

C Corporations filing Form 1120

If, by that date, you still do not have all your information ready, or if you are simply not prepared to file, do not panic. You may request an automatic six-month extension without having to explain the reason.

For individuals and single-member LLCs: file Form 4868 before April 15.

For C Corporations: file Form 7004.

With the extension, you will have until October 15, 2026, to submit your final retu
. But remember: an extension gives you more time to file, not more time to pay. If you owe taxes, it is best to estimate and pay as much as possible before April 15 to avoid penalties and interest.

A special recommendation for self-employed workers

If you are a truck driver, landscaper, independent contractor, Uber or Lyft driver, or any other self-employed worker, it is highly recommended that you file and pay your taxes on time by April 15, 2026.

Even if you qualify for an extension, pushing everything off until October can lead to:

Late payment penalties of 0.5% per month

Daily accrued interest

Possible loss of deductions or credits

Filing on time helps you avoid unnecessary headaches and sleep a lot better.

What documents should you gather now to avoid problems later?

To make sure your retu
is accurate and you take advantage of every deduction available, start gathering these documents now:

Income records: all W-2 forms, 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC, 1099-K, and any other income received

Retirement withdrawals: Forms 1099-R

Business expenses for self-employed workers and LLCs: fuel, maintenance, insurance, supplies, phone, inte
et, equipment or vehicle depreciation, and more

Charitable donations to churches and nonprofit organizations, with detailed receipts

Medical expenses, if they exceed the required threshold

Mortgage interest statements, Form 1098

Property tax receipts from your county or city

Bank statements, credit card statements, and any other proof of deductible expenses

Professional tip: Organize everything in digital or physical folders by category. The more organized you are, the faster and more affordable your tax preparation process will be.

If you need help organizing your documents, calculating your extension, or preparing your full tax retu
, the team at Jagg Tax Solution is ready to assist you. Do not wait until the last minute.

Act now!

Gather your paperwork, decide whether you need an extension, and file on time or request your extension before April 15, 2026.
