8 benefits for a trucker when having a partner

Having a healthy relationship as a couple can bring many benefits to the trucker`s life, as well as emotional stability and psychological well-being. Being with a loved one has several benefits that truckers who are considering establishing a new or serious relationship in this new year 2021 should know:

1- Reduce stress

The release of cortisol, a stress-related hormone, in the body of truck drivers is reduced when they are with their partner. This is because with the release of oxytocin, by being in love, the negative effects of stress end up diminishing.

2- Is good for the heart - Literally

It’s not just about the figurative sense of being in love, but the trucker`s cardiovascular health improves when having a relationship as a couple. Because having a stable affective bond reduces cortisol, consequently blood pressure is regulated favoring cardiovascular health. Less risk of strokes, heart attacks, etc. On the other hand, being in love increases the levels of norepinephrine, dopamine and oxytocin, hormones related to well-being and happiness.

3- Strengthens the immune system

Being constantly stressed weakens the immunity of any trucker, favoring them to develop more diseases and take longer to recover. On the other hand, having a stable and happy relationship ensures that Immunoglobulin A (IgA) remains at good levels, helping in the fight against infections.

4- The quality of sleep increases

Melatonin is secreted when sleeping with a loved one. Every time truckers are at home and sleep with their partner, the cortisol levels will be reduced, which will help both of them fall asleep faster and reach a deep sleep. The one that is considered the most restorative.

5- Longer life

Aging can happen more slowly. Melatonin is also secreted thanks to a love relationship and is not only responsible for promoting sleep, it also acts as a powerful antioxidant that slows down the effects of aging.

6- It favors mental health

Living with a loved one reduces the risk of suffering from some type of mental illness, such as anxiety or depression. Unfortunately, the risk of suffering from any of these diseases is higher if a person is divorced or single.

7- Increase self-esteem

The fact of being in love increases the estrogen levels of truckers and their partners, which is reflected in a positive way in the appearance of the nails, hair and skin. By feeling loved, truck drivers feel more attractive and their self-esteem is high.

8- Better lifestyle

Having better habits like eating better, playing sports or quitting smoking have great strength if they are influenced by the truckers’ loved ones. Their partners have great power when promoting good habits.
