Tires: High temperatures can cause your tires to explode, in addition to accelerating its wearing and reducing grip. If you are an interstate driver, then it is essential to control the pressure of your tires and the depth of the tread, at least once per month, since your vehicle works in varied temperatures. Be very precise! Look for cracks, wear and tear in the side walls, and uneven tire wear.

Cooling system: Overheating is the most common cause of breakdowns in the summer. Check the antifreeze concentration levels. If it is too “thin”, it will not work properly. We also recommend that you schedule a motor wash. Remember to completely drain the antifreeze from your radiator at least once a year to avoid overheating, which could severely damage your engine.

Batteries: Heat is a major factor in battery corrosion or sulphation. The accumulation of corrosion can cause a lower battery voltage over time. Using the battery cleaner can help neutralize the acid in the battery over time. Inspect and clean the battery cables to see if they are damaged.

Changing Oil and Filters: Changing the oil regularly will reduce wear on your engine and protect it against rust and corrosion in all climates. Hot and cold temperatures can accelerate the thermal decomposition of the oil, which makes it less effective as a lubricant.

Hoses and belts: Summer is a good time to change worn hoses and belts, which are inexpensive. The hoses transport important fluids for the proper functioning of your machine as coolant and oil. They are also necessary for other devices such as air conditioning and hydraulic steering. Visually inspect the hoses for signs of cracks and wear. Hoses should be tightened near the ends. A fluffy feeling means it’s time to replace the refrigerant hoses.
