4-hour Restart Directive Becomes Law

4-hour Restart Directive Becomes Law

Hello dear friends from El Trailero Magazine, as always, it’s my pleasure to be able to help you guys. After one year, the 34-hour Restart was put in risk of being eliminated from HOS regulation however  Congress created a piece of  legislation that will solve this problem.

At the moment, truck drivers can keep operating the same way they have been doing since December 2014. This means that it’s no longer necessary for the 34-hour Restart to contain two periods of 1-5 a.m., making it possible for truckers to use this restart option with the frequency they prefer.

This determination is temporary, due to a pending study by the FMSCA to determine if truckers are getting more rest. To be more specific and more understandable, you don’t have to rest or sleep between the hours of 1 AM and 5 AM, like you have been doing. Now, you can rest at any time and restart after 36 hours.

Just a little reminder to all my friends of this prestigious magazine. The Law for using electronic log books is ruled effective and everybody must have it by December 31,2017, this means you only have 11 months to start using it entirely. My suggestion is that you get the ELB now and start learning Ulysse Nardin Replica how to use it. You can have your normal paper log book as you work but also use the ELB to further understand how they work. All of you are getting more than  a two years notice about the ELB, so don’t wait until the last minute. You are going to have to do it anyway, so start doing now.

In the next issue of the magazine, will be issue a little more information on how and where to get it.
